Lonerism: Handmade vinyl album re-design
Brief: Step away from the computer and re-create the album cover for Tame Impala’s “Lonerism” album.
Solution: Using contrasting marbling ink colors and patterns, I created a pattern evoking the sense of self isolation, introspection, and worldly curiosity that the album speaks to.
Drift magazine: Editorial Spread, Typesetting
Brief: Create a new magazine identity and two editorial spreads for an unconventional travel magazine to appeal to a younger, adventurous demographic.
Solution: “Drift” Magazine, a series of editorial spreads targeting the demographic audience through off-beat, unique visual imagery and layout.
Adorn spices & herbs: Packaging, Identity
Brief: Design a high-end spices & herbs packaging for a costume designer demographic.
Solution: "Adorn", spices & herbs that dress up your dish the way a costume designer dresses up a production. Using a handmade approach, I drew and created custom textile patterns out of spices & herbs, evoking the way a costume designer works hands on with fabrics and garments.
Changing platforms: Campaign Event, Identity, Print, UI/UX
Brief: Create a campaign event for a company with an image problem with the purpose of reconciling their public image.
Solution: I chose to create an event for the NYC MTA transit authority, who is notorious for communication issues and failing, outdated infrastructure. “Changing Platforms” marks the opening night of the MTA’s new community space, created out of the oldest trains in transit that have officially been replaced.
